Gale Tobin on Veganism: Is it Still Relevant?

So for today, Gale Tobin is thinking about veganism and its relevance with the modern world of today.

For the past hundred years, mankind has made much progress in the exploration of science and technology. So much so that the change somewhat becomes of a burden to both society and our planet. You will hear such burden when news of how pollution continues to affect our Mother Earth on a daily or monthly basis.

Given that sense, Gale Tobin believes that the time is nigh for the world to start going back to its roots. And what she means by that is that is through slowly changing what we can all change. One of those would be food consumption on a daily basis.

Veganism is Still Relevant

Gale Tobin believes in the power of veganism and how it can help pull people closer together.

During her travels in Asia, Gale Tobin witnessed how people in the rural areas would band together while working on the farm. Some would plant rice and others would raise and take care of the vegetables. At the end of the day, whatever is harvested is shared with the people in the village or community.

Now, these are poor farming villages that are too far away from the city. The people who live in these villages are mostly vegans because raising livestock takes too much time, land, effort, and money. These villagers can also hunt, but because the government is working to keep the locals from hunting, the men in the village almost always participate in planting vegetables.

Such is the essence of raising these crops. When you both work together to raise these vegetables, there is always that spiritual connection between both workers. In these poor, tiny villages, everyone who works gets to eat. And that is something that veganism can solely contribute, despite how advanced our world is.

At the end of it all, we will still go back to our roots.

Agriculture and Veganism

Back in the day when modern technology did not give mankind the ability to preserve and cure meat, humanity relied on agriculture for food.

While most of mankind was the hunter-gatherer type, it didn’t take long for the smarter ones to realize that moving from one place to another is not going to help them in the long run. Thus, the concept of agriculture and farming was born.

Today, people are slowly getting back to their roots. Gale Tobin sees little gardens built inside apartments as a source of their greens. These little plants can provide people with small but fresh quantities of vegetables and fruits. My friends are all nuts about growing berries and other vegetables that they can add to their salad mixes

For those with really tight spaces, aquaponics can be a solution. Aquaponics is basically setting up small greenery in your apartment but it’s powered by a water pump. If you have an aquarium set up, then that would really help with setting up the aquaponics. Even Gale Tobin is looking forward to getting that aquarium set up for a future aquaponics system.

But for now, she wishes that the world would acknowledge the power of veganism and that it truly still has relevance in this age of information and technology.
