Decades of Spiritual and Life Lessons Gained by Gale Tobin
Gale Tobin Decades of Spiritual and Life Lessons Gained |
Gale Tobin shares lessons she acquired from
decades of honoring her spirituality. With the alignment to her consciousness,
she was able to recognize areas of her life that had to be reformed in order to
regain her power. Tobin identifies her spiritual path as a calling that had to
be answered. A journey that slowly revealed its purpose—from beginning to end,
including phases that she simply survived from. A journey that allowed her to
better understand herself, that showed both the negative qualities that had to
be abandoned and positive qualities that had to be retained.
These lessons
continue to serve as a guide for Tobin, assisting her in staying true to her
soul’s nature. These are accumulation of teachings that she has learned over
the years.
Listening to your intuition
Intuition is that
instinctive feeling when something is right or wrong. It is a sudden awareness
that clings onto the mind and calls for deeper inquiry in order to attain
clarity. Recognizing intuition is similar to understanding the self as it is a
“process that gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic
reasoning, bridging the gap between the conscious and nonconscious parts of our
mind, and also between instinct and reason” (Cholle, 2011).
Gale Tobin places
importance on being mindful of the internal and external body. She values the
responses that naturally come from her intuition. She believes that the
universe is constantly delivering messages through dreams, numbers, animals,
nature, and thoughts. It is only a matter of learning how to distinguish this
from simple occurrences. When it is repeating, it is often a sign that it
demands to be uncovered.
Intuition is the
deeper pull to the truth. Tobin realized this when people or events from her
life were only displaying a facade or doing a disservice to her growth. The gut
feeling of being lied to and manipulated is entirely different from having
suspicions. She emphasized that “When intuition tells you that there is
something more to the story, listen to it. Listen instead of staying for more fabricated
stories that only give more power to the manipulator and less power to your
consciousness.”
Intuition is a step
in the right direction. It is the path least to resistance. It brought her
closer to what she loved. It led her to understand how and why she believed in
certain things that others did not value as much. She followed her passion for
writing instead of the practicality and stability that other jobs offered.
Initially, it was a rocky path that guaranteed zero success but similar to the
growth of a flower, it eventually blossomed with its own time. It led her to
life-changing opportunities that transformed her into who she is now. Tobin
simply valued priceless experiences that fuel the soul more than materialistic
gains that only feed the ego.
Choosing to learn and transform
When an opportunity
for further learning is presented, it should be welcomed as life is better
lived with a zest for growth. Tobin enjoyed gaining both wisdom and experience
from various pursuits. She remained excited about every endeavor even if it was
accompanied by doubts and anxiety.
While change is
terrifying, it is necessary. There are certain decisions that are only met with
regret or despair but their purpose would not have been revealed if not taken.
They presented lessons in life that also contributed to the capability to face
the next challenge with more strength and knowledge.
The desire to
transform keeps the soul alive. Just like a butterfly that evolves or a snake
that continually sheds, human beings are faced with the same function to pursue
progress. When life is perceived as a series of end-goals, then it loses its
essence. There is no final destination except for death. Waiting to enjoy life
until the goal is reached is wasting the journey itself. Small moments should
be appreciated—lessons should be taken in and transformation should be
encouraged.
Aligning
actions with intentions
Sincerity is
revealed through actions from a place of pure intention. When introduced to a
new lifestyle that resonates with one’s beliefs, the tendency is to adhere to
that lifestyle with much determination and excitement. However, it is also
essential to match other actions along with that intention.
With Tobin being
vegan for years on end, she noticed a common pattern that society remains to
commit. According to her, speciesism blinds people from recognizing the
impact of their actions. For example, when an animal lover only cares about the
well-being of dogs and cats but not of other animals that continue to be
slaughtered for food. Another example is when an environmentalist only uses
reusable utensils but does not consider the environmental impact of eating
meat. Both examples demonstrate misaligned actions with intentions.
Entering a new
journey means re-evaluating the current identity. Breaking from societal
patterns and toxic habits are integral to growth. Shedding layers of the old
identity is inevitable when on the path of transformation.
